My Favorite Beauty Products
I know it’s a little odd that I’m sharing this, but I’ve been so swamped with designing projects lately, which is great, I LOVE it, but I thought I’d just take a break and share something a little different. I’m not a person that likes to wear a lot of makeup. I prefer a more natural approach, but that said, I do pay more attention to the skincare products I use. Here are my faves and reviews to accompany them!

Medik8 Vitamin C
I’ve always been a sun worshipper. It makes me feel good and I like being tan. There, I said it. I naturally have darker skin, so I don’t burn easily, however I do have sun damage and after years of not wearing sunscreen, I now am a little obsessive about using it on my face. I also am trying to reverse some of that discoloration.
I have tried so many Vitamin C serums, but I have to admit this is my favorite. It’s nice and lightweight, absorbs quickly, smells fresh (like oranges) and I’m pretty sure it started working right away. I’m sticking with it and plan to try some more of this brands products in the future.
Rare Beauty 4 in 1 Setting Mist
First of all, I’m not usually a fan of celeb beauty products, but this brand is different and I do love Selena Gomez, so I got a sample size of this in a box and now I just purchased my 3rd bottle. It’s a hydrating mist that also sets. I love it and so does my 16yr old daughter!
Sunday Riley Power Couple
I love this Retinol oil. I use it on toned skin and then use the Lactic Acid over it, followed by moisturizer. These are strong products, so I only use them about 3 times a week. If you’re looking for an excellent chemical exfoliator, search no more. The lactic acid is the one!
Summer Fridays Lip Balm
I received this in a box set a while ago and love it. My daughter informed me a few weeks later that it’s become a tik tok favorite. Again, she’s 16 and loves it too! It’s the perfect moisturizing balm/gloss with just the right amount of color for someone that doesn’t love an actual lipstick.
Ciele Tint and Protect SPF 50
One makeup product I can’t live without is a tinted spf moisturizer. I’m super picky about them though. I like a very lightweight product with medium coverage that hydrates without looking greasy. I tried the Ilia serum and just didn’t love it. Not enough coverage for me. So, when I saw this at Sephora and it was spf 50, I had to give it a try. Honestly, it is the BEST!!!! I already bought a second bottle in a slightly lighter color for winter months. A little goes a long way, but it has very good coverage. It looks like you have nothing on AND spf 50? Amazing product!
Farmacy Green Clean
I’ve been a Farmacy fan for at least a few years now and tried almost every single on of their products. Most I like, a few I LOVE, and some I didn’t care for. This cleansing balm is one of my favorites. I’ve been using it for a very long time and love the limited edition sets. They all smell amazing and take any makeup right off.
Grande Lash Serum
Alright this product is a bit controversial. Some have experienced some odd side effects with this one. I personally have not, so I’m including it here because well, it works. I’m not a person that would ever do a false lash, however my eyelashes are almost non existent. Well, not after using this! Seriously, I was amazed at how well it works. My eyelashes are so long now that it gets annoying when they rub against my sunglass lenses. I, however am aware that the ingredients are a bit questionable and I’ve moved on to try a safer product. I haven’t been using it long enough to know if it’s comparable, but I’ll update when I know!
Peach Slices Toner
I was on the search for a hydrating toner for my aging skin, when the person working at Ulta showed me this product. I was skeptical because it’s a snail mucin and I’ve not loved this ingredient in the past, but the price was right, so I decided to give it a go. Well, I just purchased my 3rd bottle. You guessed it, my daughter loves it too and I think it’s recently gone viral. I actually think it has helped a little with my dark spots too!
Farmacy Honey Halo
Holy Grail moisturizer right here. It’s pricey and I don’t love that, but it’s worth it! I use this in the winter time in Colorado. It is super dry here, so I’m constantly trying to find really good moisturizers and well, I don’t use anything else during the winter months. I’ve not been able to find a moisturizer that is heavy but soaks in overnight and my skin still feels moisturized the next morning. This is the one. I should also mention that I recently found what appeared to be a dupe of this product at Trader Joe’s. I’m disappointed to report that while lovely, it’s not a dupe. Sorry! You gotta get the real thing.
