Holiday Decorating and Hosting Essentials

Whether you’re decorating for the holidays or getting ready to host guests overnight or for dinner and/or cocktails, I’ve scoped out some amazing things that will make your home more stylish for the occasion!

I’m not one to go crazy with holiday decorating. I’m always working on projects in my own home, so this just feels like too much for me to do for only a few weeks of enjoyment. I didn’t decorate at all for Halloween and really nothing for fall except a wreath on the door. What I do like to do for the fall/winter holidays is decorate in a natural way with greenery, florals and natural fragrance.

Magnolia leaves are one of my favorites for the holidays! I love the mixture of gold and green that naturally occurs on them. I like a simple white holiday house set up, some faux fur and of course I couldn’t resist these faux tortoise glass ornaments! I also do enjoy changing out bedding a couple of times a year. The temperature changes drastically where I live, so it makes sense anyway.

I also don’t really use special holiday dinnerware and serving ware, although I think it’s fabulous if you do, especially if it’s something that has been a tradition for your family. Truth be told, I usually do not host holiday dinners, so for my life it just doesn’t make sense. What I do like to do is make use of other items I don’t use everyday! A coupe is an essential glassware for entertaining. I also love some blue and white, cabbage and of course some animal print, bamboo and rattan.

You always want your guest to feel comfortable and what better way than to have soft linens and special, relaxing décor throughout your home. I love a mohair blanket, this Aesop fragrance is the best room spray, and those gold lamps are very small, battery operated so you can use them anywhere, even on your table instead of candles!
